Obviously, as the writer, you are able to do whichever you decide on, but just recognize that the reader of that style is available in with simple expectations, and it wouldn’t be the very best plan to disregard those expectations. If you are doing, then congratulations! You’re venturing into literary fiction (but much more on that afterwards).
